Privacy Policy

SRT2GO ("the app") is a free, open-source application that streams live video and audio from your device to watchteevee. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. It is written to be read, not to hide behind legalese.

The short version

• The app has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party data SDKs.
• Your camera and microphone are streamed live to watchteevee and never recorded or stored by the app.
• Login tokens and your stream URL are stored only on your device, in encrypted storage.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone. The only place your stream and login go is watchteevee — the service the app exists to use.

Information the app handles

• Account / login. You sign in through watchteevee's own login flow inside the app. The app receives an access token that proves you are signed in. This token is stored in your device's secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore) and is cleared when you sign out.
• Stream credentials. Your personal SRT ingest URL (including its passphrase) is stored locally on your device so you do not have to re-enter it. It is never sent anywhere except to the watchteevee ingest when you go live.
• Camera and microphone. When you start a stream, live video and audio are encoded and sent to watchteevee in real time. The app does not save recordings, take snapshots, or retain this media.

Information the app does not collect

• No analytics or usage tracking.
• No advertising identifiers.
• No location data.
• No contacts, photos library, or files beyond the live camera/mic feed.
• No accounts or servers operated by SRT2GO — the app has no backend of its own.

Device permissions

• Camera — to capture the video you stream.
• Microphone — to capture the audio you stream.
• Network / internet — to send the stream to watchteevee.

Permissions are requested only when needed and are used solely for streaming. You can revoke them at any time in your device settings, though the app cannot stream without camera and microphone access.

Third-party services

The app connects to external services to do its job. Each has its own privacy policy that governs what they do with data on their side:

• watchteevee — the default destination. Receives your stream and authenticates you. See watchteevee's privacy policy.
• Custom SRT endpoints — the app optionally lets you stream to any SRT-capable ingest (Cloudflare Stream, Mux, a self-hosted server, etc.). If you configure a custom endpoint, your stream goes to that service instead. That service's privacy policy applies.

Encryption

Your stream is encrypted in transit between your device and the watchteevee ingest using SRT with AES-256. API requests use standard HTTPS.

Data retention and deletion

Because the app stores data only on your device, you control it entirely. Signing out clears your login token and credentials. Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored. The app keeps no server-side copy of your information.

Children

SRT2GO is not directed at children. Streaming on watchteevee requires a Twitch account, which Twitch restricts to users aged 13 and over.

Your choices

You can sign out to clear stored credentials, revoke camera and microphone permissions in device settings, or uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data. For questions about data held by watchteevee, contact watchteevee directly.
